An exciting opportunity has arisen at our Livingston depot for a Quality Assurance Technician 

             

Overall Purpose:

To ensure that Iceland own label products are assessed, and action taken to ensure that they are of the Food safety & quality expected by both our customers and the company.

To ensure maximised quality assurance cover across the depots up to a seven-day, weekly, monthly basis supporting maximum product availability with fully flexible working-shift patterns as part of a fully flexible team. To provide technical advice and support to RDC & Stores and wider Iceland trading teams. 

 

Knowledge

•            Conduct targeted product inspections across Iceland own label products to ensure they deliver to the agreed specifications.

•            Communicate outcome of inspections as appropriate

•            Accurately complete documentation in a timely manner and maintain the data

•            Ensure the tools for the job are in place and cleaned, managed, maintained, and calibrated.

•            Conduct product assessments on “Trailer Breakdowns” as required to ensure product quality and safety is maintained.

•            Support RDC with food safety and quality issues to drive continuous improvement

•            Establish & maintain a positive and professional relationship with RDC

•            Conduct Depot Hygiene Audits at established frequencies with RDC personnel in attendance.

•            Provide flexibility of QA cover to meet the needs of the business and RDC.

•            Communicate results and follow up to ensure resolution to issues raised and escalate where necessary. 

•            Monitor the pest management system, ensuring all corrective actions for both the pest contractor and RDC personnel have been actioned.

•            Ensure RDC personnel comply with Iceland technical and Quality related policies and procedures. 

 

Skills & Knowledge 

•            Relevant. Experience within the food industry

•            Food Hygiene Qualification (Intermediate Level)

•            Manufacturing, Store and/or Distribution experience.

•            Food safety qualifications, including HACCP.

•            Temperature legislation/equipment/monitoring systems.

•            Pest Control awareness.

•            Decision making ability and excellent communication skills, verbally and written.
