The Development & Test Manager will have the responsibility to improve and expand the innovative online systems that serve our customers. Whilst being responsible for realising technical requirements into digital solutions, and working alongside internal architecture and Live Services teams, the role will work hand in hand with development teams and partners (internal and external).
As well as overseeing development, the role will be hands on when required, leading the direction of the platforms that satisfy our customers.
Day to day activities:
- Oversee development of co.uk/ Force.com in line with agreed roadmap
- Coordinateinternal / external development teams
- Accountable for the team’squality and timely delivery
- Collaborate with internal teamsto assist with design and product delivery
- Defining the IT Software development & testing lifecycle
- Leadership in security best practice and regulatory compliance
- Agile and SCRUM evangelist
- Line manage and providetechnical guidance to developers and testers
- Lead code reviews and report on team performance
- Effortlessly switch between big picture thinking and nit-picking detail
- Undertake 1-2-1s of the Development and QA Team
- Coach and mentor direct reports instilling best practice within the team
- Technical stakeholder for development activity involved for project scope and direction
- Supportsand drives quality assurance via automation
- Stakeholder management, providing regular updates on the progress for the SMT
Skills required:
- Strong leadership and people management skills,with effective motivation and coaching technique
- Track record of introducing new agile development approaches and best practice
- Ability to solve problems with the right mix of creativity and deep analysis.
- Proactively identify project, people,and organisational problems, and provide well-thought-out solutions to them.
- Previous experience in delivering onlinesolutions, running large integration projects, and/or experience with Ecommerce or retail solutions is desirable (but not essential)
- Experiencedwith software delivery techniques & tools such as Continuous Integration, Configuration Management, and Release Management.
- Experience with Commerce Platformssuch as Salesforce, Hybris, ATG, IBM WebSphere, Ideally Salesforce Commerce Cloud
- JavaScript / HTML / CSS / SQL / APEX / JAVA
- MVC & Web API
- Experience working with AWS, Azure or GCP.
